The total cost of attending college does not end with the sum of tuition, room and board. You still need to add up costs for items like transportation, textbook, and insurance. According to US News & World Report, colleges students are paying hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars in exra for their health insurance and medial treatment.
Here is the reason:
Most campus health centers have not registered as "in network" for the biggest regional health insurers. That means students covered by their family's plan typically can't get reimbursed for many tests and procedures performed by campus health clinics.
